Reducing poverty through
inclusive education

CAP SUD's mission is to help reduce poverty by promoting inclusive, accessible, quality education — fostering skills development, individual empowerment and stronger communities.

Our founding principles

The values that guide us

01 É

Equity

Promoting fair access to opportunities, resources, knowledge and civic participation, by removing the structural barriers that limit the development of individuals and communities.

02 D

Diversity

Valuing the diversity of cultures, languages, identities, disciplines and experiences as an essential source of innovation, learning and social transformation.

03 J

Cognitive justice

Recognising the complementarity of scientific, Indigenous, community and Southern knowledge systems to foster a more inclusive, equitable and relevant production of knowledge.

04 E

Excellence

Pursuing the highest standards of quality, scientific rigour, innovation and impact in research, training, dialogue and knowledge mobilisation.

05 T

Transparency and accountability

Acting with integrity, openness and accountability, ensuring ethical governance and turning CAP SUD's commitments into concrete, measurable and lasting action.

Our purpose

Why CAP SUD?

Global South countries represent more than 85% of the world's population, yet remain under-represented in knowledge production. CAP SUD fills this gap by grounding its research in local realities.

01
Independent research

No partisan or governmental ties — our analyses follow facts, not political agendas.

02
Rooted in the South

Our researchers live and work in the regions they study. Proximity to the field is our comparative advantage.

03
Multilingualism

Publications and activities in French, English and Spanish — to reach the entire Francophonie and beyond.
